Kiana Toossi
Owner & Creative Director
Holiday is a New York-based design studio specializing in identity and design: building visual worlds, shaping tone, and creating systems with texture and atmosphere. We approach our work through the logic of hospitality — reading what each unique project needs, setting the tone, and shaping ideas with care. Our approach brings a grounded clarity to both our client work and our own studio-led projects.
Holiday exists for clients who seek out this sensibility as much as the work itself. We are a partner who can host the creative process, guide rhythm and pace, and create a space where the best ideas emerge.

We distill the essence of your brand through a holistic approach, allowing your personality and goals to inform each design decision. Whether it’s building your brand from the ground up or refreshing an existing identity, our process begins with an in-depth discovery and research phase. Our findings guide how we create extensive systems through logo suites, color palettes, and typographic hierarchies for a distinct, lasting identity.
There is no good design without good strategy. Helping clients distill their brand's essence through an extensive collaborative process informed by the larger cultural and competitive landscape, we develop names and messaging pillars that position your brand for success.
Once we’ve established your visual identity, we translate the brand we’ve built together to its digital counterpart to create a cohesive experience from the first click. Custom designed websites are our bread and butter, however we also provide design services for Squarespace and Shopify-hosted sites.
Whether its a launch party, collection drop, or celebration, our event design services are customized to suit each fête. We thoughtfully approach the whole process to develop the atmosphere of your event, starting from creative concept through the special touchpoints.
Campaigns are an opportunity to tell new stories within an established brand world. We develop cohesive, 360° creative systems including campaign identities, digital assets, and physical touch points, giving each campaign its own point of view while remaining true to the larger identity.
Packaging is often the first tactile introduction to a brand, turning the identity work into a physical touch point. We translate the essence of your brand through scalable packaging systems, from initial concepts and dielines through QA and production with our trusted partners.
Merch offers an opportunity to extend a brand beyond its core identity, creating pieces that bring new energy while remaining true to the larger brand story. From apparel and drinkware to limited-edition collections, we design thoughtful merchandise and collaborate with trusted production partners to bring it to life.
Great art direction is a supporting pillar to the greater world building around your brand. From initial mood boards to on-set direction and oversight for deliverables, we source photographers, videographers, and artists to develop a rich visual story. We offer in-house, medium-format film photography for hospitality clients.
Cover-to-cover design and branding for physical publications, including magazines, zines, books, catalogues, and lookbooks.
We believe your brand’s written language is just as impactful as how it looks. Holiday can help develop copy guidelines that strengthen your brand identity, providing greater depth and consistency across campaign messaging, website copy, and marketing communications.
From stationary and postcards to menus and business cards, Holiday creates thoughtful collateral that seamlessly fits into your brand’s larger world.

Our roots run deep in the worlds of design and hospitality. In addition to our studio practice, our family tree extends to the businesses that raised us and became part of Holiday’s own story.
Holiday’s Founder & Creative Director, Kiana, grew up alongside her mother’s architecture and interiors practice, where she developed an appreciation for space and materiality, learned to consider the big picture without losing sight of the smallest of details, and saw firsthand how design can shape an experience. It’s a perspective that continues through Holiday today, both in the studio’s approach to design and its ongoing creative partnership with IDGroup, including reimagining the firm’s brand identity and website in 2025.

In 2018, IDGroup purchased and began restorations on Cuyama Buckhorn, a historic roadside motel in California’s Cuyama Valley. Kiana began developing the brand identity from the ground up, which became a formative project for her career and Holiday Studio. Over the years, the studio has shaped every touchpoint of the hotel’s experience, from identity and web design, to event design, sourcing, merch, and art direction.

Beyond client work, we extend our creative practice into a growing collection of our own projects and pursuits — each a way to discover our curiosities and the larger world of Holiday.
Inspired by the hotel gift shop, our Souvenirs shop features collectable pieces to commemorate your Holiday.
It goes without saying that we love the festive season. Each year, we celebrate with a dedicated theme and collection of hero products designed and produced in-house, joined by a supporting cast of sourced objects from like-minded small businesses.

Our identity is set solely in ABC Marist, a workhorse serif designed by Dinamo. Marist draws from two landmark Old Style typefaces: Nicolas Jenson’s 15th-century roman, and William Morris’s Golden Type, a 19th-century reinterpretation “celebrating craft aesthetics and questioning society’s reliance on technology.” This sentiment felt particularly fitting for Holiday — a studio where craft and historical references are foundational to our work.
Our four tree illustrations, the Pine, Topiary, Palm, and Maple, were drawn by artist Micah Lomel, working from a plate titled Arbres, found in a vintage, French natural history book. These became the starting point for our own trees, each chosen as a distinct expression of the Holiday philosophy. Four species, four distinct forms, yet each growing from the same place. Our illustrations maintain the observational quality of the source material, grounding our identity in reference to the world around us.

When naming our studio, we wanted to capture that feeling of being on holiday — the ultimate sense of escape, when everything else falls away and you step into another world. It felt like a natural reflection of the world-building at the heart of our work: creating visual worlds that make every Holiday project feel like a destination of its own.
